Herdade do Paso, ‘Trinco’Bolotas’
Directly translated as the ‘Acorn Muncher’, the black pig on the label is synonyms with the region. These pigs are fed acorns and are responsible for the delicious hams coming out of the Iberian Peninsula. The 160 acre property has been owned by the Guedes family since 1996. The estate is sustainably farmed in the Vidigueira commune of the Alentejo where the climate is sunny with little rainfall. The property includes a dam, which occupies 20 hectares and provides much needed water to irrigate the vineyard. The soils here are mainly limestone giving lively, expressive wines.
Very bright red colour. Highly intense aroma dominated by components of red fruit and ripe black fruit – blackberry, raspberry and plums. Dense on the palate, with high-quality tannins, well-balanced acidity and a long finish.
